The Lord is always with us Matthew 28:20 "and then teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you; and be sure of this- that I am with you always, even to the end of the world." Jesus talks to the eleven disciples at Galilee after his resurrection. He commands them to go and make disciples of all the nations and teach them His commandments. He gives them the assurance that He will always be with them. He gives us the same assurance, He will be with us - His followers even until the end of the world. His glory and strength is our source of encouragement. Sometimes. Christians experience a feeling of being alone in their day to day lives. You might even hear people say that one day, Jesus will be with us, thus implying that for now we have to struggle alone. This is untrue, for God's Word says that He is with us all the time. God cannot lie - it is not an assurance for sometime in the future but for here and now. He is with us every moment. There is no need to pray that God be with us- when He is already with you and me. Instead we should pray for His guidance through the Holy Ghost, for the His Spirit of discernment between right and wrong, for His strength and obey His voice. How do we recognize His voice? We know His voice through a close relationship with Him, a love relationship with our Redeemer Jesus, through obedience, prayer and meditation in His Word. Remember our fight is not against the visible elements of this world but it is a spiritual war (Eph. 6). God supplies us with everything we need in this warfare - we are conquerors in Jesus. We fight the good fight of faith in Him and through His death and resurrection we are now saved and it is Him who lives in us now - thus we can draw from His strength. During those times when you feel you are alone, read Matthew 28;20 again and realize the importance of His words - and stand on the truth. He is with you even when you go through deep waters. Look at Isaiah 43:2 "When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you . When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown!.." There are times when we are in the middle of a storm, when we have to cross deep and wide rivers. It sometimes seem that the tasks that lie ahead are too difficult to handle, but fear not for God is with us. He will not lead you in a path too difficult - for He has already overcome all obstacles - and He is the Creator of both heaven and earth. It is not through our strength but through His, that we can face and overcome whatever may lie ahead. Find your peace, comfort and rest in God alone. Seek Him in times of heartache, difficulty and sorrow, but also in time of joy and triumph, for it is through His blood that we have victory. Bring praise to Jesus, our Shepherd and spread the good message of hope and eternal life in Jesus to all. Let everyone know that when you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you are a child of God and therefor never alone. Seek Him everyday for He longs to shower you in His love, abide in His presence and thank Him for it.
