Isaiah 55:11 "so also is my Word. I send it out and it always produces fruit. It shall accomplish all I want it to, and prosper everywhere I send it."

Gone Angling! Doesn't sound right. Gone Fishing? Much better...

I've been down to the waters a couple of times trying to catch some fish. Ready for action; equipped with the right gear and bait. Checked the time of the tides. Everything I deemed necessary for the task was done. Did I catch any fish? No. Well, just the regular rock ones. Those that consistently takes the bait from your hook. You don't want them. Those you throw back and hope they lead the ones you really want to your bait. No, not one real fish was caught. Not even talks about the one that got away. Why? What was I doing wrong? Perhaps I wasn't fishing for the right reasons. Maybe it was all about having fun and trying to get the big one or as many as possible. Did I use the right bait and was my hook the right size? Was I casting in far enough? My son gave the answer: " You're not fishing, Daddy. You're angling." Funny...

Indeed it is funny, but he is so correct. Am I angling or am I really Fishing for Jesus. Have I equipped myself with enough of His Word to go out Fishing? Soul winning. The task of leading others to find Jesus Christ. Have I Grown enough to be ordained as a Fisherman? Well, it's not the gear, maybe the bait, but it's rather the purpose. The fulfillment of God's Purpose for each and everyone of us. That's our only goal. In doing that we become Fisherman and we're no longer angling. Fish come to the waters where you Fish. It's not about us. It's about God. The Kingdom of God. Seek first the Kingdom of God and everything else, everything else will be added unto you...

What a joyous moment when someone excepts God as his/her personal Saviour. Heaven rejoices!!

Am I Fishing or angling? You be the judge.
