Open Your Heart

Matthew's 25:38-40

Close your windows and curtains. What do you experience? Is it darkness? Is it cold? Do you experience a shortness of breath?

Now, open your windows and curtains. Let the light shine on your face. Listen to the sounds of life - birds,insects,dogs,children and the wind. Light streams in and colour your furniture, even your plant seems radiant.

The Lord is Love. Without letting Him in, there is no love in our hearts. It is dark, cold and lifeless. We have been created in His Image. We are also to share His love. You cannot share His love if you keep everything locked up. You need to invite people into your heart. You need to go into the garden to pick fresh flowers.

You can only give if you have to give. Where do you receive to give - from God. Receive His love and share it - that is why He has given it to you. Become love. God is love and truth - Jesus is the only truth. You are only true when you have the truth in you.

Open your heart and start loving today - without any preconditions. God loves you and changes you to His Image insofar you allow Him. Love others the same - not when they are perfect.

Yes, but if I keep myself locked up, I am protected from life. May be true, but your life will be dull with no colour and no hope. Reach out to your neighbor, the cashier, the forgotten friend, your husband, children, parents, stranger on the street. Love them today, with a smile, a hug, a flower, patience, endurance, a word of encouragement, prayer, assistance in their tasks, and receive even more love to return.

To give is to receive - to give of myself. Special moments are not somewhere in the future. It is not in money. It is part of everyday. It is part of a thankful heart, one that spreads love and truth, shows care in Jesus.
