How to get more of God's peace

2 Peter 1: "Do you want more of God's kindness and peace? Then learn to know him better and better, for as you know him better, he will give you through his great power, everything you need for living a truly good life: he even shares his own glory and his goodness with us....." But to obtain these gifts, you need more than faith; you must also work hard to be good, and even that is not enough. For then you must learn to know God better and discover what he want you to do. Next learn to put aside your own desires so that you will become patient and godly, gladly letting God have his way with you. This will make possible the next step, which is for you to enjoy other people and to like them, and finally you will grow to love them deeply. The more you go on in this way, the more you will grow strong spiritually and become fruitful and useful to our Lord." The LIVING BIBLE

Dear Friends

Step 1:

Spend time with the Lord, in His Word, in prayer in communion.

Step 2:

Faith: grows by hearing His Word. Practice your faith in Jesus.

Step 3:

Live a holy life, keep on doing what is right and good, keep yourselves from the harmful effects of sin. Stay away from sin.

Step 4:

Know God - seek His will for you, seek knowledge from Him.

Step 5:

Become unselfish, put your desires aside.

Step 6:

Patience, learn to wait, learn self control.

Step 7:

Become godly, let God change you to his image.

Step 8:

Step 7 leads to Step 8: liking other people, loving your Christian brothers and sisters.

Step 9:

Loving even the person who hates you, a deep and forgiving love for all mankind, like Jesus loves us.

Result:

Peace and kindness from God in abundance, growing up to be full of Jesus.
