Rest in the Lord

Isaiah 30:15"For the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel says:Only in returning to me and waiting for me will you be saved; in quietness and confidence is your strength; but you'll have none of this". Read the whole Isaiah 30.

People fight and struggle but cannot seem to find rest, nor can they win. Why? Rest is only to be found in God.

Pride prevents the human from accepting the grace of God. It is against God. It tries to do it's own thing. Even though you are a newborn Christian, you can still have a lot of pride that separates you from God.

Isaiah 30:1" Woe to my rebellious children, says the Lord; you ask advice from everyone but me and decide to do what I don't want you to do. You yoke yourselves with unbelievers, thus piling up your sins."

God is speaking to his children, believers in Jesus Christ. How many times have you seeked advice, comfort, worthiness and strength from people before submitting to the Lord? Do you prefer the advice of people or the advice and Wisdom from God?

God is our Provider, in Him we are whole. We are conquerors in Jesus. In ourselves we cannot succeed. It is dead. We don't have to struggle, wrestle and sweat, for our Lord has already won the battle for us - therefore there is rest in Him. Become quiet, listen to His voice, stop telling Him what to do and stop seeking the advice of mere men. The more pride the less Grace. Let Him comfort you, give you strength, rest in Him with confidence that He is your source of life, love, peace and everything you 'll ever need.

He calls us to return to Him, since He wants to bless us. Look at verse 18:" Yet the Lord still waits for you to come to him, so he can show his love; he will conquer you to bless you, just as he said. For the Lord is faithful to his promises. Blessed are those who wait for him to help them."
